| The Kingdom of God includes both his general sovereignty over the universe and His particular kingship over men who wilfully acknowledge Him as King. The Kingdom is especially to be understood as that realm of justification into which people may enter by the exercise of child like humility in placing their trust in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation. In addition it is to be understood that there is coming the establishment of a literal physical Kingdom upon this earth, which will be ushered into existence when Jesus the Christ of God returns to set up His throne in Jerusalem, after the battle of Armageddon which will mark the consummation of this present age. In view of these things Christians ought to labor and pray that the Kingdom might come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. |
